Join us for this donation-based weekly event, where we’ll spend 30 minutes revisiting and refining Urban Kiz basics, technique, and connection. Through drills and exercises, we’ll focus on developing body awareness and partner connection. Some weeks, we’ll also learn a fun move or pattern you can use on the social dance floor!
Afterward, the floor is yours for open practice—because we all know that practice is the key to improvement!
No partner is necessary, and all levels, body types, and genders are welcome. Come dance, connect, and grow with us!
Nia 5 Stages with Maria Whitley
The self-healing practice of Five Stages connects you to the power of sensing joy and pleasure in your movement choices. Using the stages of embryonic, creeping, crawling, standing, and walking, you will expand your knowledge beyond the class to improve function and comfort in your body.
Through movements which mimic nature (fish, lizard, and bear ike postures), in the Five Stages, you will be guided to tap into the voice of sensation as you move though each stage. Every level designed to facilitate well-being and optimal alignment.
In Five Stages you will be guided to mindfully focus on body sensations using the lifestyle principles of the Body’s Way, and by expanding your sensory IQ and body awareness.

MELT Specialty Workshop - Upper Body Stability - Maria Whitley
Do you have neck pain, shoulder issues, or feel weakness in your upper body?
When your shoulder girdle isn't stable, movement throughout the upper body is compromised, joints become compressed and you are more likely to have neck, shoulder, elbow, mid-back & wrist issues that frequently will lead to pain.
In this workshop, we will rehydrate the upper body and then work on stabilizing the shoulder girdle by reintegrating your neurological timing so you stop compensation and move more efficiently and with more ease.
You will feel more energized and more stable, breathe better and sense better posture!

The concepts of desk and device driven professionals and students have greatly shifted in the last few years. However, whether you work remotely, in an office, or classroom, chances are that your work load has caused your posture to slack.
Our technologies grant us many freedoms to learn and connect, but distracts from body engagement. Our body awareness drops and the auto pilot takes over once we are consumed by timely tasks. Our auto pilot is so focused on getting that task done, the external stimulation we internalize becomes imbalanced. Pockets of stuck stress build within the tissues, resulting in restrictive, and sometimes painful repetitive movement patterns. OUCH!
