Katie Morris, LMT
Owner, Intuitive Touch
Katie was trained at Advanced Massage Therapeutics in Louisville, Kentucky, receiving her state licensure in massage therapy in 2011. Her foundational studies included Injury Assessment and Treatment, Anatomy and Physiology, Pain Management, Kinesiology, Trigger Point Therapy, Swedish massage techniques and Deep Tissue techniques with a focus on myofascial work. Since graduating, Katie has completed the required coursework in the Usui program to become a Reiki Master and will be completing her Thai Massage certification in 2024. Katie takes continuing education seriously and regularly exceeds the state's minimal requirements to keep her licensure. Past courses include integrated reflexology, Indian head face and foot massage (an ayurvedic technique), the science of fascia, introductions to aromatherapy and craniosacral therapy, and multiple Jin Shin Jyutsu classes. Currently, Katie is working towards completing the required seminars to be considered a student practitioner of Jin Shin Jyutsu and is completing the second of two courses to further her understanding of and treatment options for headaches and migraines. After 2024, Katie hopes to pursue her dream of becoming a yoga teacher which she has been practicing and incorporating into her work for just over a year with an eventual goal to pursue aromatherapy and herbalism. Future dreams of Katie include completing the Manual lymph drainage certification, more craniosacral coursework, and Lomi Lomi classes.
Katie has a deep interest in environmental improvement and sustainability that extends into her business practices. Her passion for natural living and understanding what the body can do on its own has guided her on a path to using the least-invasive, most natural methods possible first when working with clients- believing that you can always work up the ladder to more invasive methods as needed. Katie loves to share what she has learned so far with anyone willing to listen, and she practices non-judgment for all.
