Katie Ward
Owner, Realigned Body
Functional Movement and Posture Coach, Certified Comprehensive Pilates Instructor, Certified Pre and Postnatal Pilates Instructor, Certified Bowspring Yoga Instructor
Katie has immersed herself in alignment education since 2008, pursuing training and certifications in Pilates, prenatal and postnatal care, rehabilitation, the Bowspring, and MELT Method. She has learned that prioritizing self-care is essential while realigning the mind, body, and beyond. Katie is excited to share revolutionary techniques based on science and geometry to help you feel better in your body! She aims to fully support you throughout your realignment process because it is not always easy. Like life! Katie looks forward to helping you release deeply rooted tension so you can respond to life’s curve balls more conscientiously.
Katie is a deep lover of movement and a passionate practitioner of life. As an artist and mother of two, she is always adapting and adjusting to life’s curves. Katie is constantly being pushed out of her comfort zone because life happens, and sometimes, it’s really hard! Day-to-day life can put a strain on the body and cause painful misalignments. Finding functional ways of releasing tension and introducing more balance to the body is important to me because I like feeling strong and secure inside my body. Katie wants this for you as well!
Katie offers a variety of realignment assessments and practices to meet people wherever they are on their movement journey. She focuses on functional applications of efficient engagement for the mind, body and beyond for anyone, at any age. Whether you are an athlete looking to enhance your performance with new physical activations, or a senior citizen looking to gain more mobility, agility, and balance, Katie will introduce effective techniques to help you reach your goals. She has found remarkable success in incorporating elements of the Bowspring Alignment System and various Pilates based postural concepts with my private clients, allowing them to become more interconnected from the inside out. Katie also enjoys teaching group Bowspring yoga classes and does her best to imprint her students with the importance of integrating mindful modalities that will support them in daily life.
Presenting Bowspring yoga workshops at various events and movement festivals has inspired Katie to reach a broader collection of practitioners who are open to exploring new ways of moving and thinking. These events also allow Katie to learn of new movement styles or innovative perspectives toward sustainable alignment.
Katie’s professional goals include collaborating with small practice Physical Therapists and Chiropractors to build a stronger network of wellness facilitators and practitioners that help clients or patients integrate healthy alignment outside the clinical atmosphere. She looks forward to reaching more people with practical self-care tools and resources that help them feel better in their body.
Katie describes her ideal client as one who is dedicated to bettering themselves from the inside out. This client is curious about exploring different facets of themselves to create positive change for the body, mind, and spirit. They are brave and not afraid to confront their discomforts, knowing that they must move through the discomfort in order to release it. This client will understand that self-motivation and accountability are essential on their path to realignment.
Katie’s favorite group class that she currently teaches is Dynamic Balance. This class is a fun and informative way to learn more about finding balance within the body, as a whole. What makes this class so unique is that it is taught with layered intensity, to accommodate anyone at any level of experience. Everyone can benefit from better balance! Katie hopes to see you there!
